About the exhibition

The exhibition "Bill Viola. Sculptor of Time" presents 18 major works by artist Bill Viola.

The works address the fundamental themes of birth, life and death, and evoke fundamental emotions such as empathy, suffering and hope. 

The tour takes 1h30 to 2h.

The various works on display include a sound component. We do not offer audio-guides for this exhibition.

The exhibition is presented in French, Dutch, German and English.

There is no minimum age to visit the exhibition. We do, however, recommend that younger visitors be accompanied and encouraged to discuss certain themes and images presented in the exhibition.

Yes, if there are at least 15 people in the group, you can visit the exhibition at the preferential rate of €16 per person.

Contact us via info@expo-billviola.be or +32 549 60 49 to make your reservation. You can also indicate whether you would like a specific experience (guided tour, privatization, etc.).

School groups can visit the exhibition at the special rate of €8 per student, with one free accompanying adult for every 15 students. Additional accompanying adults pay €8.

School visits can be made with a guide or independently.

No, pets are not allowed in the exhibition, with the exception of guide dogs.

Yes, but please be careful not to disrupt the experience of the visitors around you: flash photography and long videos are forbidden.

Yes, the ticket for "Bill Viola. Sculptor of Time" gives access to the Musée de La Boverie's permanent collection for an additional €2.

People under 26 can visit the permanent collection free of charge.

 

 

About the exhibition venue

The exhibition takes place at the Musée de La Boverie (Parc de La Boverie, 4020 Liège).

The exhibition takes place entirely indoors.

Yes:

  • By train: the Liège-Guillemins TGV station is a 700m walk from La Boverie, via a pathway featuring a pedestrian-bicycle bridge over the Meuse river.
  • By bus: routes 2 and 3 or 26 and 31.

Yes, there are two parking lots nearby:

  • Médiacité parking lot, various entrances 200m from the museum (closed on Sundays)
  • Parking " Liège-Guillemins P2 " rue de Fragnée 41, 4000 Liège

Yes, the exhibition space and the entire exhibition are accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Parking spaces are allocated in the driveway leading to the museum. 

People with reduced mobility can register directly at the museum reception desk, or by ringing the bell at the door to the left of the main entrance.

Yes, the contents of the exhibition are accessible to the hearing impaired.

The "Madame Boverie" restaurant is located within the exhibition space.

Yes, toilets are available on site.

Lockers are available to store your belongings for the duration of your visit.

Yes, benches and/or chairs are available at various points throughout the exhibition.  

About the booking process

We recommend that you reserve your ticket via our online ticketing service, to ensure that you have access to the exhibition at the date and time of your choice.

You can also buy your ticket on site. Without a reservation, our teams will welcome you within the limits of the exhibition venue's capacity.

On-line booking is HIGHLY recommended at weekends, on public holidays and during school vacations. Without a reservation, our teams will welcome you as far as the exhibition venue's capacity will allow.

It's best to arrive at the time indicated on your ticket. However, if you arrive earlier or later, our teams will be happy to welcome you within the limits of the exhibition venue's capacity.

If you have booked during the last time slot of the day, we recommend that you arrive promptly to ensure that you have enough time to visit the entire exhibition.

Reduced fares are available for:

  • Young people aged 6 to 25 (€12)
  • Children under 6 (free)
  • Persons accompanying someone with reduced mobility (16€)
  • Groups (16€ per person for groups of 15 or more)
  • Schools (€8 per pupil for school visits)
  • Articles 27 (1.25€ upon presentation of a valid article 27 coupon. Available directly at the museum);
  • Teachers (16€ on presentation of teacher's card, excluding school visits)
  • Holders of a valid ICOM card (free)
  • Accredited journalists (free)

If you do not fall into one of these categories, you must purchase a standard ticket (18€).
